November 18, 2015

Tinder Press is thrilled to announce that Patrick Gale’s A PLACE CALLED WINTER has been shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award 2015. The shortlists for all five Costa Book Awards were officially announced last night on BBC 4’s Front Row, where they described the novel as ‘a modern pastoral’.  This is the first time Patrick has been shortlisted for the prize, and he is extremely thrilled by the recognition.

The other nominees on the shortlist are Kate Atkinson’s A God in Ruins, Anne Enright’s The Green Road, and Melissa Harrison’s At Hawthorn Time. Last year’s winner of the category was Ali Smith’s How to Be Both. The winners in each category will be announced on Monday 2 January, with the final winner crowned at the Costa Book Awards ceremony on Tuesday 26th January 2016.
